If one is going for some hiking and they need a good source of energy then train mixes can be the best thing to have. As these are high in calories, it can provide some good energy in case of strenuous hikes. They also get digested quickly and one does not feel heavy. In the case of road trips, this can be a good fill-in instead of junk and fast foods. It can keep the energy going and as they are full of dried fruits it can provide all the necessary protein.

Instead of consuming an unhealthy bag of chips during that time, it is better to go for an energy bar or a trail mix. These can be easily consumed at any time of the day.
